Insaf Aliyev

Insaf Aliyev is an Azerbaijani citizen of Georgia who lives in Karajala with his wife and two children. He does not speak Georgian. According to him, he ended up on Rustaveli Avenue by accident and did not participate in the protest. He says that after being sprayed with a water cannon, he became angry. The prosecution presented a video allegedly showing a man in a black hoodie throwing stones. His lawyer argues the charges are baseless, noting Aliyev could not have participated in group violence because, due to the language barrier, he could not communicate with the supposed group members.
