Case Details
The investigation accuses 37-year-old Tornike Toshkhua and 33-year-old Mindia Shervashidze of attacking former football player and Georgian Dream supporter Beka Gotsiridze on August 1. They were arrested on August 16, 2025. Gotsiridze had threatened protest participants and came to Rustaveli Avenue where he insulted those present. A knife fell out of his pocket, handed to police, but police did not arrest him. Two weeks later, Toshkhua and Shervashidze were arrested for fending off the armed Gotsiridze who attacked the rally.
